Wolf Children

Hello guys! Whalley here and once again, I'm sorry I haven't been updating my blogs in my last update, this is mainly due to a personal issue which was thankfully sorted. I was also busy with making videos on YouTube and wanted to see how far I'd go with that, and so far... it's been enjoyable. :)

With that said, I wanted to do something a little different and I know I've promised you guys a review on the second season of Power Rangers on my "Super Hero Time" series and also a few others including a Sly 4 review. But due to how busy I've been and my personal life getting in the way, I haven't be able to even type up anything since... well, the last update I did. So I don't think I won't be able to get back into doing "Super Hero Time" for a good while, but I do promise, once I have more time and able to sit down and re-watch the second season to do the review.

Now with that out of the way, let's get right to the movie at hand with is...

Wolf Children.

PLOT: We follow the story of a college student Hana, who meets a young man who sneaks into her classes and falls instantly in love with him. The man in question is named Ookami and after dating for a good while, until one day Ookami decides to share with her his secret, that he can change into a Wolfman. A surviving descendant of extinct Japanese wolf. Upon learning this, Hana doesn't freak out, instead she still loves him for who he is and asks him to live with her. A year later, Hana becomes pregnant, but out of fear that her baby may be born a wolf, she doesn't go to a hospital. Months later, their daughter Yuki was born, and after another year later their son Ame was born. But on that day, of Ame's birth tragedy struck. Ookami never returned home, she searches frantically for him until she finds some city workers removing his wolf carcass from the canal. Devastated by the lose of her lover, she resolves on taking care of their children by herself, the only problem is her children are half wolfs, like their father.

CHARACTERS:
I love these characters! I can't express that enough, because these are well thought of characters. Hana is a very strong mother and all she wants is to protect and look after her children. Ookami, as much as I could see was a very deep character, with many secrets and for that kept very much to himself. But when he meet Hana, he soon opened up and was able to share his secret with her, knowing she would never tell anyone and that she loved him, for being true to himself. The children are lovable and very complex due to them also being half wolf. The side characters are also memorable, even though some of them, aren't seen for long in the movie.

ANIMATION & ART-STYLE:
From the studio that brought us movies like; The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars, once again the animation is just beautiful to look at. The art style and the colors are spot on and the way these guys can show many colors at once with such a bright colors which would mostly take your attention away from the background and other things in the movie, but nope! All the colors were done just right to be bright enough to notice the characters, but also not too bright to take your attention away from the background.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
I will say very quickly that the reason I'm not reveling much about the movie, is because it's a movie you have to watch yourself, so I can leave you guys to come to a conclusion of what you think of the movie, whether you like it or not. In my opinion it's a beautiful and lovely movie, and with a story dealing with being "different" from other people makes it a very powerful and complex film. I personally think this movie is on par with the previous movies that the director has done, hell I even think it's on par with the Mayao Miyazaki movies! (Yeah, that's right! I went there.)

So, if you love anime and want to watch a good story with some lovely animation? Check it out! Because believe me, you won't be disappointed.

And that's my short review of Wolf Children, I hope you've enjoyed reading it and look out for more of my reviews, (if I ever get round to doing them again.)
