The Whalley Reviews: Hellsing Ultimate. Part Two

Welcome back to my review and personal tribute to a series which has shocked me, entertained me and also... stolen my heart. So let's get right down and continue where we left off this is my personal tribute and review of...

Hellsing Ultimate.
"The Bird of the Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame."
Alucard.

Right, before I begin a reminder that this series is gory, sick and AWESOME!!! Anytime time for the anti-heroes/villains of the series. The Iscariot Organization (also known as Vatican Section XIII.)

First up is the character who we know so little about, Father Renaldo. As I've said we know so little about this character, but why am I mentioning him? Because even if he's in a few episodes I think he still needs to be mentioned. He's just a priest. He seems to act (like Walter to Integra two characters I will get to.) as a 'bodyguard' to Maxwell (a character I'll be getting to in a minute), and appears to wield a sword, although he only brandished its hilt briefly. Not much to say about him, but a cool brief character.

Now be prepared, because next up is a nun with a katana! O_O I know! This is, Yumiko Takagi. Yumiko is a timid, quiet nun with Multiple Personality Disorder who is a pacifist and is easily frightened and acting in a cute timid manner. However, when her glasses come off, her alter-ego, Yumie, is unleashed. Yumie is impulsive and violent, showing no fear of anything and preferring to negotiate using the sharp end of her katana. (In other words... Don't. Fuck. With. HER!) She seems to genuinely enjoy killing people, having almost superhuman strength: she is adept enough to kill her victim from outside the room, and is capable of smashing heads into walls with her bare hands. Yumiko has often commented how hard it is for her to "get Yumie to sleep" after she has been provoked into action. Her raw strength, fearlessness and fearsome katana skills make her the ideal partner to Heinkel, who is cool-headed and analytical. Speaking of her partner...

Heinkel Wolfe. He is an assassin agent for the Iscariot organization, who usually partners with Yumie. Heinkel is usually seen with two pistols as a preferred weapon, often acts as a bodyguard for Maxwell but it was only the one time you see this in the OVA anime. Like I mentioned he's cool-headed and analytical and is the perfect  partner for Yumiko's alter-ego Yumie, mainly to keep her in check and to also make sure she doesn't kill anyone they need to integrate for information. Also before you ask, I don't know much about her looking like a man but it's believed she's possibly intersexual.

Next up is the overzealous leader of the Iscariot, Enrico Maxwell. Maxwell controls his subordinates with an iron fist. However, his seemingly blind devotion to his mission often makes his underling Alexander Anderson (Another character I'll get to.) question his motivations. For example, during the standoff between Alucard and the Millennium-led police forces in Rio de Janero, Anderson watched the scene unfold on the news with a mixture of revulsion and fury, while Maxwell seemed to revel in the ensuing violence.Maxwell seems to suffer from a facial tic when he is excited, characterized by repeated twitching of his left eye. I'm not going to lie, Maxwell is just a power-crazed maniac who simply wants nothing but power and control. Now time for Alucard's main rival and adversary...

Father Alexander Anderson.

A paladin, or warrior priest, who works for the Iscariot Organization. Like Hellsing's Alucard, Anderson is Iscariot's trump card, except that he is a human, rather than a vampire. However, Iscariot has enhanced Anderson through some kind of genetic engineering, turning him into a being known as a Regenerator. His mission (both personal and professional) is the destruction of all of Hell's demons, including Hellsing and Millennium. To complete this mission, he uses his arsenal of blessed bayonets and sometimes his bare hands. On his gloves, there are inscriptions written across the crosses drawn on the back. The right hand says "Jesus Christ is in Heaven". The left hand says "Speak with Dead". This is later changed to "Speak with The Dead" and in his last few appearances said "Iscariot Section XIII". He carries an obsession for what appears to be his "crusade," and compulsively quotes passages of the Holy Bible as he speaks. He is extremely determined to achieve his end, usually by whatever means necessary. His words and his constant quoting of scripture indicate a clear, almost fanatical obedience towards "the word of God". Despite all his almost insane lust for killing, he has a pure and kind heart, he works at an orphanage in the manga and OVA and acts very kindly towards the children under his care. He also looked after Maxwell, Yumiko and Heinkel when they lived at the orphanage. I fecking love Alexander! This character is just legend written all over him! We know very little of his past, but from what we see I'd say it was very tragic and sad. That being said he by far (and in my opinion) one the best anti-heroes ever lived! Also.... THIS IS ONE FUCKED UP PRIEST!!!

"If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let them be accursed at His coming. God save you from your fate.
Amen!"
Father Alexander Anderson.

So, that raps up the second part of my review and tribute to Hellsing Ultimate, but join me next time friends. For it is time to meet our heroes and the character who will be remembered as a true vampire!

And with that I'll leave you with one of my favorite lines from Alexander Anderson.

The Whalley Reviews: Kamen Rider W. (Super Hero Time!)

Welcome to the second edition of Super Hero Time! The series that tribute my favorite morphed superheroes. This time we'll be taking a look at another Japanese hero series and a series that may sound familiar to a few of you. So let's get right down and take a look at...

Kamen Rider W.

Now before I begin talking about this series one thing I have to say to avoid confusion is that this series Kamen Rider goes by two different ways in saying his name, one; the Japanese calls him Kamen Rider Double and two; the Americans and English call him by Kamen Rider W. (Not sure if I got that right, but if I have let me know if you've watched the series and know more about it.)

In the ecologically-minded city of Futo, (Or The Wind City) there are many windmills and the people live in harmony. However, the Sonozaki Family sell mysterious devices resembling USB flash drives called Gaia Memories to criminals and other interested parties who use them to become monsters called Dopants, committing crimes with the police force powerless to stop them. To make matters worse, the Gaia Memories carry a dangerous toxin that cause their users to go insane to the point where they could die from the life-threatening devices. After the death of his mentor and boss the self-proclaimed hard-boiled (actually half-boiled) detective Shotaro Hidari  takes his place and with him is his partner the mysterious Philip, who possesses the true Gaia Memory, to investigate crimes which involve Dopants. Using their own Gaia Memories, Shotaro and Philip use the Double Driver belts to transform and combine into Kamen Rider Double to fight the Dopant menace and keep Futo safe. Later during the series they are joined by investigator Ryu Terui, who transforms into Kamen Rider Accel. I will say this before I continue this series is very good, but for what it is the comedy in some places can be good at times but then again, the comedy does sometimes comes out of left-field. But it still a very good series and I had fun watching it. Also I forgot to mention in my last tribute in my Gokaiger review to talk about the theme song for the series. So here the link to Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger's theme song;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_Wd2y_Mlbs

And now back to Kamen Rider W (Double)'s opening, well because this series focuses on a team of investigators or detectives. It has a funky jazzy theme song with a a bit of rock to go with it.

W-B-X ~W-Boiled Extreme~ by Aya Kamiki with TAKUYA.

And on to the characters...

Shotaro Hidari
portrayed by
Renn Kiriyama.

First up is Detective Shotaro Hidari, is the man on the streets, having been taught by Sokichi Narumi how to be a private investigator. After Sokichi's death, Shotaro investigates Dopant crimes, and with Philip he fights Dopants as the left side of Kamen Rider W. In the movie W Forever Shotaro receives Sokichi Narumi's Lost Driver, allowing him to become...

 Kamen Rider Joker.

Able to become a Rider on his own thanks to his mentor, and I'll say this... Kamen Rider Joker is very powerful even on his own without his partner Phillip, Shotaro is able to fight off anyone and is a confident fighter on his own. Not just once do we see this form, but on three occasions. This belt is retrieved by Philip and given to Shotaro before his disappearance, allowing him to become Kamen Rider Joker, again. (In the series.)

Philip
portrayed by
Masaki Suda.

Philip is Shotaro's partner in the detective agency who lost his memory and uses his special abilities to access the Gaia Library (a metaphysical realm and Akashic records in the form of white room filled with an endless number of books on an endless number of bookshelves.) to solve Dopant crimes. To help fight Dopants, normally Philip uses his mind and consciousness to become Kamen Rider Double. But with the Fang Memory, Philip switches places with Shotaro as Double in...

 FangJoker.

This allows Philip to go out into the open and utilize Kamen Rider Double in case Shotaro is not around to help, though Shotaro still needs to put on the Double Driver first. However, the transformation is extremely taxing on Philip's body, and he lost control of himself in this form during its first two uses. In addition, they cannot stay in the FangJoker form for too long due to Philip's weaker body. This form is considered the stronger and faster than all forms that came before it, but is seldom used due to both Philip not being outdoors as often as Shotaro, the strain that it puts on Philip's body, and the fact that they are locked into FangJoker and cannot Half Change. And believe me... I wouldn't want to mess with this form!!! Also is it just me, or does Philips habits and personalty almost remind you of L from Death Note? W(Double) also has a final form called...

CycloneJokerXtreme.

it is the evolved form of CycloneJoker accessed with the Xtreme Memory, linking it directly to the infinite knowledge of the true Gaia Memory through the iridescent band going down the middle of Kamen Rider Double's body called the Crystal Server. It also represents the perfect union between Shotaro and Philip, as they become completely one through the Xtreme Memory absorbing Philip and attaching to the Double Driver. Thus when either Philip or Shotaro speaks on their own, their respective side's eye flashes, they also appear together as soon as they cancel the transformation. The knowledge of this form allows Kamen Rider Double to instantly analyze the opponent's capabilities and formulate strategies quickly. Also this bitch can fly with golden wings. KICKASS!!! And a sword that is in a shield, need I say more? Also Which I should of mentioned Kamen Rider W(Double) has many other forms which are all....

these.

Right now that the main Rider out of the way lets get to...

Akiko Narumi
portrayed by
Hikaru Yamamoto.

She is Shotaro's boss and landlord at the Narumi Detective Agency. Because of her young appearance and attitude, Shotaro refers to her as "Middle-school Girl" and sees her as a threat to his public image. She has come to Futo from Osaka to find her father and reclaim the agency's building, initially unaware that her father had died and was a Kamen Rider until the events of the "Begins Night" film. She serves as a personal assistant as well as the boss of the place while on the job as well as keeping Shotaro on the right track by slapping him with a green sandal; she has also used this tactic on other characters, including Dopants. She has a black and white view of the world and tends to say "I won't hear of it!" when she is caught off guard by something. Despite her somewhat childish personality, she has shown signs of promise as a detective, particularly in her ability to decipher clues that leave Shotaro, Philip, and Ryu stumped, as well as being extremely protective of clients, a trait she shares with her father. Akiko harbors a crush on Ryu Terui (the second Rider for he series), but her advances are ignored as he maintains a professional demeanor towards her, until he finally gives in to his feelings for her. I find her annoying at times, but then finding myself loving her character when she's not being over the top bossy to everyone else. Plus watching everyone who gets hit by her green sandal. Next up is...

Sokichi Narumi
portrayed by singer-songwriter
Koji Kikkawa.

He's Shotaro's mentor and founder of the Narumi Detective Agency, referred by Shotaro as "Boss". His policy with investigations is to ensure the client's safety above all else, and unlike Shotaro, he is truly hardboiled in the sense that he will make difficult decisions when he needs to, and follows through with it. However, during the events depicted in "Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider OOO & W Featuring Skull: Movie War Core", Sokichi became involved in the Dopant cases and gaining the means to become...

Kamen Rider Skull.

HOLY SHIT!! Not only is the character kickass! But his Rider form is too! Some time after that Sokichi accepts a job from a mysterious client, who turn out to be Shroud, to get Philip away from the Sonozaki Family, transforming into Skull to fend off the Taboo Dopant and an army of Masquerade Dopants during the raid on their factory. But in the end, after talking Philip into coming with him to decide his own fate and find his own atonement, Sokichi is shot in the back and dies telling Shotaro to continue in his place and giving him his white fedora, his dying words being for Shotaro to "grow into a man worthy of wearing it". A sad end to a cool and true detective. Right next up is...

Ryu Terui
portrayed by
Minehiro Kinomoto.

Ryu is a young man who is a Superintendent appointed to the Futo Police Department's Paranormal Crime Investigation Division, much to the chagrin of Shotaro, Jinno, and Makura (Two police who work along side Shotaro). Though he becomes an ally to Shotaro in fighting Dopant crimes as...

Kamen Rider Accel.

And before you say anything, yes he does look a little ridiculous but, he has three other forms...

Kamen Rider Accel Trial is the powered up form of Kamen Rider Accel. This form is significantly faster than Kamen Rider Accel's normal form, but sports weaker armor and overall power. It is more than enough to make up for its weakness by being able to punch and kick at blinding speeds, as well as increasing his overall movement speed (running, dodging, etc.) to a great degree. Once the Maximum Drive is initiated, Kamen Rider Accel Trial can only be used for another 10 seconds before being forcibly reverted to human form, but the transformation is retained if the Trial Maximum Drive is successfully executed within 10 seconds. The blue one is Accel Trial and the yellow colored form has been labeled as Kamen Rider Accel Yellow Signal Version. Oh! Did I also mention this guy can turn himself into....

a bike!!!

O_O

Well... NOW I'VE SEEN EVERYTHING!

Now that the Riders are out of the way I would talking about the villains at this point, but I'm going to do it as a whole mainly because their a family.

The Sonozaki Family.
Oh don't let that innocent photo fool you because...

Well... need I say more, kids? Oh and yes that cat the old man was holding is the creature at the bottom of the photo.

They are an aristocratic family in Futo who founded the organization known as the Museum. When his son Raito (plot point there for you guys to find out.) died and was reborn as an avatar of the true Gaia Memory, Ryubee (the old man on the right and the one with the blue... head.) used his organization to produce and distribute the Gaia Memories in the criminal underworld, resulting in the Dopant crime waves. This enabled the Museum to follow through with the Gaia Impact. With the exception of Raito and Fumine, each member of the Sonozaki Family owns a special Gaia Memory, called Gold Memories, allowing them to assume Dopant forms with the use of a prototype Gaia Driver belt which prevents the Gaia Memories from corrupting their minds, though it comes with the cost of unable to use these Memories at full power, but that does not seem to inconvenience them in any way.

I will not spoil anymore because I really do recommend this series to be watched, because believe me... you don't want to miss it. Oh! And I'd be buggered not to mention...

Katsumi Daido
portrayed by
Mitsuru Matsuoka.

He is the leader of NEVER who fights with only a combat knife as his side arm. As revealed in "The Beginning of N/Blood and Dream", Daido was born in Futo with a congenital heart defect. As a result, combined with a near fatal car crash, his mother Maria used her Necro-Over project research to revive her son as the first Necro-Over. Using bio-stimulants to enable him to properly age, Daido proved a superior fighter yet he and his mother turned against Foundation X (A organization who funded Sonozaki Family.) after the Necro-Over project is rejected. Soon after, he recruits four people who recently died and were revived as Necro-Overs, forming a band of hired mercenaries. During one of their missions, Daido meets Mina and falls in love with her. During that time, Daido gains the experimental Eternal Memory and is able to transform into...

Kamen Rider Eternal.

And what a Rider he became...

However, being forced to watch Mina seemingly die before his eyes turns Daido into an completely unfeeling monster as he kills Doctor Prospect (The main bad guy for his movie back story), with the Eternal Memory getting damaged in the fight. Deciding to destroy Futo to wipe out the Museum, Daido serves as the main antagonist for "W Forever" and uses the T2 Eternal Memory to regain his Kamen Rider form. After his plans are thwarted by the combined efforts of Shotaro, Philip, and Maria, Daido utilizes all 26 T2 Gaia Memories to overpower Double, but is defeated and slain by CycloneJokerGoldXtreme (The golden wings form I mentioned earlier). Long after their battle with the Museum ends, Shotaro and Philip learned the truth behind Daido's actions and pay their respects. And yes, this character became very popular that he alongside Accel got his own movie back story. And he is... A FUCKING BADASS!!!

That concludes my tribute to Kamen Rider W(Double) a lovely, and fun series full of fun, drama, cute and banter moments. A series I really do think is worth looking into and watching.

Join me next time for....

Oh yes! Power Rangers, and not just that we'll be going back to the series that started it all...

The Whalley Reviews: Spyro The Dragon (Video Games New Looks Finale)

Welcome to the final edition of Video Game New Looks series, and this time we're going to be looking at a series that is very special to me. A game that lit the fire in my heart forever, we're going to be looking at...

 Spyro The Dragon.

What can I say? I'm a big fan of the Spyro games ever sense it came out, hell! I'm such a fan I've got a stuffed toy of him. The game tells the story of a little dragon called Spyro, who lives happily with the other dragons. But after an interview, with a the dragons (no joke.) the reporter asked the evil Gnasty Gnorc, the dragons then describe him as 'not a threat' and 'ugly'. Gnasty Gnorc is apparently watching the interview live on television (How? I don't know!) and is outraged. Gnasty Gnorc then attacks the dragon realms by using a magic spell that traps all the dragons in crystal, except for Spyro, who dodges the spell because of his small size. Now it's up to Spyro to travel all over the Dragon Realms and free all the dragons, after saving them the dragons give you hints and tips, battling bosses and collecting different colored gems. After saving the dragons you finally go off to face Gnasty to beat once and for all! And that's the plot. It's a simple one, but a lovable one. I loved playing this game so much when I was younger. Hell! It reminded me of playing the Crash Bandicoot games, and like those games for the Playstation 1 was bloody good! With many worlds and places to explore and remediable characters like...

Spyro himself, and Sparx the Dragonfly, his best friend who acts like the player's health meter and assists in gathering gems. And also helps Spyro to kill sheep who turn into butterflies, and then Sparx eats them.... Sick....

All the dragons you free along the way are also key characters in Spyro's progression through the game. I won't name any of them because.... There's a load of them!!

Gnasty Gnorc, the main villain of the story, who froze all the dragons of the land in crystal. I will admit this isn't the strongest villain I've ever faced but he is memorable and... MY GOD HIS CHEST IS FUCKING HUGE!!!

What can I say more? The graphics are brilliant for it's time, the story being a silly one was lovable and enjoyable and the characters really helped it. I just wished they thought about the story more to make the game more interesting and also burning every MOTHER FUCKER YOU SEE WAS FUN!!! HAHAHAHA!.... Sorry. So it's a fun game and should be looked at more.

But wait! There were squeals... That made the stories all the more better!!

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!

The story begins a year after the events of the first game. In the distant, fantasy realm of Avalar, local residents...

Elora,

Hunter,

and The Professor

have been working on their latest and largest portal. During a test of it, Hunter enters his birth date as the portal's target coordinates, inadvertently activating it and allowing a small wizard named Ripto into the realm along with two large and dimwitted monsters, Crush and Gulp. Identifying that the land has no dragons, Ripto declares that he is going to "move in" and take it over; however, Elora is able to de-activate the portal by instructing fairies to remove the orbs powering the portal. As Ripto begins to terrorize Avalar, Elora and the Professor plan to 'catch' a dragon in order to drive Ripto off. And who is this dragon you might ask?... Who else? Spyro! In Artisans (I guess the new name for where dragons live?) have been under rainy weather for some time so Spyro decides he need a vacation, locates a portal to the realm of Dragon Shores. However, after traveling through the portal, he finds himself instead landing in the realm of Avalar by means of a smaller portal, built by Avalar's Professor. Ripto enters the scene and destroys the portal, objecting to how the Professor succeeded in bringing a dragon to the world of Avalar. Ripto is, however, forced to retreat when Gulp accidentally swallows Ripto's magical scepter, and Spyro is asked to help save the realm of Avalar by defeating Ripto. Oh...

The little guy is Ripto and with him are his dimwitted monsters Glup (the green triceratops) and Crush. (the grayish blue with the club)

Oh yes, need I remind everyone of this asshole...

Moneybags...

I'm not going to lie, I really hated this character! But it's a love and hate relationship I have with him. I love to hate him! You can't go forward without having this guy get in your way and take nearly all the gems you've collected!!!

*sighs*

Thankfully you get to kick his ass after you've beaten the game.

And now the third squeal to the Spyro series on the PS1...

Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon.

Oh my god! This is good!

The game opens with a celebration in the land of the dragons, where Spyro and his kin are celebrating the "Year of the Dragon", an event that occurs every twelve years when new dragon eggs are brought to the realm, and I'm not going to lie They're sooooo CUTE!! During the celebration however, a cloaked rabbit girl named Bianca invades the Dragon Realms with an army of creatures called Rhynocs (rhino men) and steals all of the Dragon eggs, bringing them back to the Sorceress, who scatters the eggs throughout several worlds. The worlds are split up into four realms, all of them are named after a time of the day, and types of geography: Sunrise Spring, Midday Gardens, Evening Lake, and Midnight Mountain. You can tell they put a lot of thought into making this game. So it's up to Spyro, along with Sparx and Hunter, and they are sent down a hole to find the thieves and recover the dragon eggs. While pursuing the thief, Spyro discovers a world once inhabited by the dragons, but long abandoned and forgotten. This world is ruled by the Sorceress and her Rhynoc army. Only a few creatures stand and fight against the Sorceress' rule. Spyro learns from one such inhabitant named Sheila the Kangaroo that when the dragons left the realm, the magic of the world began to dry up. Spyro travels through each world in the forgotten realm, acquiring aid from the local inhabitants and rescuing the dragon eggs. I will not spoil anymore about the ending or anything else about this game, it is that good and is my favorite out of the whole series. You get to play as not only Spyro but other characters as well! Including Sparx!!! I won't spoil it anymore by telling you the characters because... well I think it's best for you to play and see for for yourselves I may have already told you about Sheila the Kangaroo but let that slid eh? Also....

Dragons riding a skateboard are AWESOME!!!!

*sighs* Right now that I've talked about the three original classics and I'll skip the other three brilliant games after Year of the Dragon. Mainly because... Well they're just as good as the others really. So lets have a look at What they did next...

The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning.

It doesn't look half bad, I'll admit Spyro needs a little more work done and his voiced by Elijah Wood! But  it does seem like decent looking game. I can't see this bei....

O_O!

WHAT!? ANOTHER FUCKING REBOOT!!!!!!?????

The Whalley Reviews: Hellsing Ultimate. Part One

Welcome to my review and personal tribute to a series which has shocked me, entertained me and also... stolen my heart. So, lets not waist anymore time and get down to review and tribute...

Hellsing Ultimate.
"The Bird of the Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame."
Alucard.

Right before I begin, I must address something... This anime is really, really gory, violent and very, very sick! And also a bit of dark humor. So if you want to read this, see the pictures or watch the video clips I wish you luck, but... if your do not like those sort of things... well....
You have been warned!

OK how do I put this.... THIS ANIME IS FUCKING AWESOME!!! I have never seen such a dark, sick and deep anime story in ages!!! My god! Right the plot is very simple, A vampire vs Nazi. THAT'S IT! I'm not joking that is really what the main plot is!! BEST PLOT EVER!!!! Now to the characters! But before I do I'm going to go backwards with them because I think the best ones, should be saved for last...

So let's start of with the main villains of the series... The Millennium (Nazi) members.

Let's start with a character that is very curious indeed, The Captain. This guy is a very interesting character because, one he doesn't talk... At all, and two he's a werewolf. That's it! That's all we know about him, so far. I'm pretty surprised that a character who says nothing in the whole anime/manga and is very popular character. Also like two other characters in the series, he is Millennium's trump card. A werewolf is a Nazi's trump card... huh... nice tough.

Next up is, First Lieutenant Tubalcain Alhamba, also know as 'The Dandy Man'. This guy is sadly only around for one episode in the Ultimate series, but like a lot of characters in the series leaves a very lasting impression. This guy's only weapon are razor-sharp cards, so... yeah never play a game of card game or you'll activate his trap card! HAHA!... Yeah that was silly. He very cool but arrogant, often understanding others powers and overestimating his own.
Now with have one of the Valentine brothers, Luke Valentine. This guy the more calmer and the smarter one of the brothers, Luke also fancies himself as Alucard's demise believing that because of his relatively advanced powers that he was destined to surpass Alucard in every way. He is in fact a very powerful foe with quick reflexes, speed and shape-shifting into other people. He is also very skilled with a dagger blade in combat and is a sharp shooter with his Walther PPK.

Now on to Jan Valentine, and I'm not going to lie... THIS GUY IS KICK ASS AND STEALS THE SHOW! Sadly it's only one episode, but hey... He does it with style. Jan is vulgular, rude and one of the most foul-mouthed characters in the show, constantly spewing profanity at others and making volatile comments about them. He is also perhaps the most obnoxious, given the fact that he's often loud when he speaks and laughs quite often, even in the face of defeat or death. Unlike his brother, Jan appears to not truly be pleased unless he is enjoying himself by causing chaos and destruction.

Next up, First Lieutenant Zorin Blitz. A tall, massively muscled female vampire, who is part of Millennium's elite Werewolf force. She is the commander of one of Millennium's zeppelin forces, and a formidable fighter, wielding a giant scythe with enough force to cut a man in half. On one side of her body, she is covered with tattoos, which include some designs but are mostly letters; when exercising her power of illusion, they flow from her body onto the walls and ground around her, extending her influence over the area. Also... WHAT THE FUCK UP WITH ONE OF HER EYES!? Jeez!! She also has it out for one the main characters because.... I don't know better figure I guess.

Also on Millennium's elite Werewolf force is First Lieutenant Rip Van Winkle. This girl is... just odd. She uses special bullets from a long-barreled flintlock musket which can track targets of their own accord, and are seemingly armor-piercing. Her "magic bullets" (Yes magic even plays in this anime) are even able to change their trajectories in mid-flight and repeatedly hit a target before disintegrating. Her personalty is that of a merciless and ruthless child, and one you wouldn't want to invite to your birthday party kids.

Now here a very creative and creepy character, meet Warrant Officer Schrödinger. As you can see he is a cat-boy (Werewolf would be the military unit he serves in), and was created by the character Doc. He has the form of a young boy, with cat ears and a perpetual smirk, dressing in a Hitler Youth uniform. Usually found sitting underneath the Major's seat like a pet, he acts as an envoy for Millennium. Schrodinger is able to appear and reappear and has the ability to regenerate himself if he is somehow killed. He has a fun and childish manner, taking only his destined role in all seriousness. And by god what a destiny he HAS! O_O!

Now we meet Millennium's top scientist, The Doctor. Not Doctor Who thank god! He is a learned man of multiple science fields, his genius resulted in the creation of many of their projects. Perhaps unstable, certainly eccentric, but undeniably brilliant, it was his research that led to the birth of a Nazi vampire army out of 1,000 volunteers in the 'Letztes Battalion'. Doc usually appeared dressed in a perpetually bloodstained white lab coat, an unusual shirt which reveals his lower torso, and glasses with an assortment of adjustable, multilensed spectacles. And believe me I thought his glasses where fucked up! Also he has some funny moments with Schrödinger in the series, look out for them.

And now finally the leader of Millennium, and quite possibly one of the most the most fucked up Nazi character ever!!! Please give a warm welcome to...

The Major.

Oh my god, what a fucked up guy this is! AND HE'S HUMAN!!.... Well sort of. (I won't spoil it for you guys.)  A former SS officer, once in charge of the Nazi experiments with vampires, until the operation was attacked by a young Walter (butler to Hellsing) and Alucard (main anti-hero) in 1944. He led the Letztes Bataillon (Last Battalion in case I've mentioned it and no one got it) in his attempts to wreak unending war. The Major's psychopathic demeanor, ruthlessly seeking a venue for his own maniacal desire for war and a glorious death, was often masked behind a veneer of smiling complacence, behind which he serenely watched as his own grand design continued in its march to oblivion.

This character scares me, more then the main character does. This guy just wants to bring death and an unending war to the world. I could talk about him for ages because... my god! I am fucking terrified of this character! God help us if their is a man or woman like him out there... O_O! We'd be fucked!

So that's the first part of my review and personal tribute to Hellsing Ultimate. But don't think this is over, oh no! We are far for over!! Join me next time when we take a look at the heroes (or anti-heroes) of this series.

"My friends, it has often been said that I like war. My friends, I like war... No, friends, I love war! I love holocausts. I love blitzkriegs. I love defensive lines. I love sieges, charges, I love mop-up operations, and retreats."
The Major.
(The speech/monologue he has is too long! Full speech below)
